What happens if the system either stops working or is not functioning properly? Can I get it repaired?
All Unibind products have a standard 1 year warranty. This means that an article should be in good condition and work properly. When this is not the case we will offer an appropriate solution. Depending on the article we’ll replace or repair the goods!
What type of binding machines do you sell?
Unibind is a thermal binding system that can be used to create truly professional looking products even suitable for commercial sale. How many books can a Unibind machine bind at once?
A machine’s binding capacity really depends on how many heating units it has. The XU138 only has one heating element, so it’s not able to bind as many books at once as the XU338, which has three heaters. Also, the binding capacity will vary depending on the thickness of your documents. The thinner your documents, the more you will be able to bind at once.
How long does a binding cycle take?
One of the reasons why Unibind systems are so popular is that they can bind documents quickly. These machines don’t need to warm up before use and they can complete a binding cycle in about 30 seconds.
What supplies will I need?
You will need to use specialized Unibind supplies with your machine. Here is a quick look at what’s available:
- Steel crystal covers feature clear plastic covers. These supplies are great if you want to give your document a customized title page.
- Steelback spines. If you want to use your own covers, these spines are perfect. They come with paper covers that are attached to the spine. Just tear them off and substitute your own covers.
- Steelmat covers. These supplies feature frosted front and back covers. When the covers are pressed against paper, you will be able to see the text of your document.
- Steelbook hardcovers. If you really want to make your work look professional, you should use these covers. A hardcover document is always sure to impress your audience.
- Photobooks. Finally, these supplies are meant for binding photo albums. A number of different sizes and finishes are available. Also, don’t forget you will need paper on which to print your documents. Make sure your printer has enough ink/toner so it can properly finish the job.
How thick can my documents be?
Unibind supplies are designed to bind work that’s up to 1.5″ thick. In other words, your documents can be up to 340 pages in length.
Can a Unibind system do any other types of binding?
Unfortunately, no. Unibind machines can only do thermal binding. However, thermal binding is one of the most elegant document finishing methods and it can make your work look like it was bound by a professional. Thermal binding is suitable for all kinds of documents , ranging from financial reports to photo books.
Document and Data Destruction FAQs
What type of material do you shred?
We can shred old financial records, statements, invoices, cheques, budgets, flyers, labels, marketing plans, DVD/CDs and diskettes.
Are reservations required before shredding can be done?
Yes! We only ask for 4 days to a weeks’ notice to schedule shredding dates.
How much do you charge for your services?
The prices for all of our confidential shredding vary according to the particular service and there are discounts available for high volume shredding. Our prices are based on J$ per kilogram (KG) as this provides full transparency. For our paper shredding services, our mobile shred truck weighs all material so we know exactly how many kilograms have been shredded and therefore provide invoices based on that amount. We are happy to provide a total fixed price once we have established all of the details..
What happens to the paper after it has been shredded?
After material is shredded it is returned to our secure facility and mixed with our other customers’ material until collected for export to paper recyclers around the world.
What size jobs do you accept?
Shred Mobile services all jobs, large or small. Our customers range from small offices to major organizations. We offer a drop-off service, so you can bring a small quantity of documents that you need destroyed to our facility for shredding.
Can you explain the difference between data destruction and data deletion?
Data deletion is simply making the data no longer visible to the application or end user. Depending on the technology in question, the data can be really easy to get back, sometimes even by the end user. Or it can still be possible, but it requires an expert to get it back. Data destruction is basically making the data completely unreadable, even if you were to hand that disk over to a professional that does it for a living.
What is degaussing and why is it effective?
Degaussing is the process of eliminating data stored on tape and disk media such as computer and laptop hard drives, reels, cassettes and cartridge tapes. In degaussing, the magnetic data on a tape or hard disk is neutralized by exposure to a powerful magnetic field. Degaussing is the guaranteed form of hard drive erasure, as such; it serves as the standard method of data destruction.
Can degaussed hard drives be reused?
No, you cannot reuse a hard drive once it has been degaussed. This is because the degaussing process not only removes all the data, but it also removes the start-up files. As such, a degaussed hard drive will not boot up.
